jessica’s unique approach to real estate
When deciding which real estate representative to work with, it’s imperative that agents and their clients identify with one another. Being able to communicate and connect with your agent is crucial to any client relationship, so let’s dive into my background to give you a better idea of where I come from, my involvement in my local community, and my approach to real estate.

I am originally from London, Ontario. In 2001, I came to Toronto to obtain my undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto. In 2005, I graduated with honours and was hired by the National Hockey League to work in the Hockey Operations Department at the head office in Toronto as one of the first employees after the 2004- 2005 Season Lock-Out.

As much as I loved working at the NHL, I knew I had a different calling that I had to pursue. Without question, my career change was motivated by my love for unique homes available within the City of Toronto. I’ve always had a passion for the different types of architecture throughout the city, as well as interior design. Thus, in 2009, I obtained my real estate licence and started a career where I was able to pursue both of those interests.

I came to realize that I loved finding properties not only for my clients but also for myself! Since moving to the city, I’ve found my personal living style to have constantly evolved. From student to young professional to now mother of two, I’ve had the opportunity to study, live, and work in a variety of areas around the city. My knowledge of these neighbourhoods from both a personal and professional standpoint enables a unique perspective that I’m able to share with my clients. These neighbourhoods include The Annex, Little Italy, Yorkville, The Entertainment District, Summerhill, Riverdale, The Republic of Rathnelly, Rosedale, and now Moore Park, where I am an active member of the community.

My children both attended the Whitney Child Centre, where I volunteered on the Board for a total of 6 years, culminating in my term as President. I currently sit on the Board of Directors for the Moore Park Residents Association, and I am a former Director for the North Rosedale Residents Association, where I served for three years as the Director of Community Engagement. I also volunteer whenever I can at Whitney Junior Public School as Class Mom, the Terry Fox Run, and various other activities throughout the year.

As a mother of two human babies and one fur baby, I do my best to be a huge part of their lives and volunteer whenever I can with both their school and extracurricular activities. We are very active members of the Leaside Baseball Community, where I volunteer as the manager for my son’s AA Team and have coached my daughter’s House League team for the last two seasons. We are also very active members at the Toronto Lawn, where I volunteer on the member’s Social Committee.

Through all of these initiatives, I have been incredibly fortunate to meet a number of incredible families in our community that have led to long-lasting relationships, including my partnership with Val Baldwin. We love the fact that we can live and work in our neighbourhood, which is something that we do not take for granted! We work with one another’s strengths to create the very best representation for our clients. In addition to selling properties, we both have an extensive background in home renovation and rebuilding. The knowledge that we have gained has armed us with a variety of resources that we love to pass along to our clients: whether it’s staging a home for sale or envisioning yourself in a new property, we offer a full-service approach to suit individual needs and objectives.

Through my personal and professional experience, I understand that choosing a home is, in fact, the biggest decision that most of us will make and that it requires a great deal of patience and the right balance of current and future needs. Having lived in the Rosedale / Moore Park Community for almost 10 years and realizing the friendships that have ensued for our entire family, I can’t stress the importance of neighbourhood community enough! It’s an imperative part of the search, and I draw from my own experiences to ensure that my clients identify with a community of their own.

Buying or selling your home can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be! Through my uniquely tailored approach, I am dedicated to ensuring that each negotiation I handle is characterized by a seamless transition, making your journey in the real estate market as smooth and successful as possible.
